Artist Statement

My work explores the relationship between humanity, nature, and cultural heritage through surreal digital imagery and layered symbolism. Inspired by Ukrainian folklore, mythology, and postmodern thought, I reinterpret traditional symbols to reflect on transformation, identity, memory, and hope.

Nature and the cycles of life are central to my practice. I am fascinated by the interconnectedness of all living things and by the enduring questions of existence, consciousness, and belonging.

Working across digital media—including photography, digital illustration, 3D, and AI—I create dreamlike worlds where personal narratives meet collective memory. Through these symbolic landscapes, I invite viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the deeper forces that shape both our individual lives and our shared human experience.

About the Artist

Hi, my name is Kseniia Bortsova. I am a Ukrainian artist originally from Kyiv.

Professionally trained as a 3D artist, I have expanded my practice into digital 2D art, exploring the relationships between humanity, nature, and culture.

Inspired by Ukrainian cultural heritage, I create symbolic, dreamlike works that reflect on transformation, identity, memory, and hope. My art reinterprets traditional folklore and mythology through a contemporary perspective.

Growing up in a family of artists, writers, and craftspeople, I was deeply immersed in Ukrainian culture from an early age. This heritage continues to shape my artistic vision, which combines digital techniques with layered symbolism to explore both personal and collective narratives.
